OUR BELIEFS (Our Faith Statements)

Our beliefs define how we view God, the word of God, Jesus, humanity and what we do as a ministry. We firmly believe in the bible as the word of God and as the final authority for all we do as a church.

2. Jesus Christ is the Son of God: We believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God and was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified, died, buried and that He rose from the dead, ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God. Isaiah 7:14; 53; Matthew 1:18-23; 3:17; 28:5-6; 24:46-47; John 11:25-27; Acts 1:9; 7:55-56; Gal 4:4-5; Ephesians 1:20-22; Philippians 2:5-8; 1 Timothy 2:5-6; 3:16

3. Holy Spirit and His indwelling: We believe in the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in believers and the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. John 14:16-17,26, 16:13, Acts 2:4, 10:44, 19:1-6, Rom. 8:16, 1 Cor. 14:2,4

4. The bible is the Word of God: We believe the bible is the written word of God inspired by God Deuteronomy 4:2; John 16:13-14; 17:17; Romans 15:4; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Titus 1:3, Hebrews 4:12; 1 Peter 1:25; 2 Peter 1:19-21, 3:16

5. Life after death: We believe that there is life after mortal existence (death) for eternity and where one spends eternity, in heaven or in hell is based on the decision whether to accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour and live according to the written word or to rebel against God’s word and commandments John 3:16, 36, 10:10; Romans 6:23; 1 John 2:25; 5:11-13; Revelation 20:15

6. Redemption through Christ: We believe that the redemptive work of Christ has provided salvation for the Spirit, healing for the body, liberty and deliverance from all oppressions and evil work Matthew 1:21, Luke 1:68-69; John 1:12, 5:24; Acts 16:30-31; Romans 1:16; 3:23-25; 5:8-10; 1 Corinthians 1:18; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 3:13; Ephesians 2:8-10; Philippians 2:12-13; Hebrews 9:24-28; 1 John 3:8, Revelation 3:20

OUR STANDARDS (Our Core Values)

Our standards help us ensure that we are fulfilling our vision and mission within our core values. These values define how we approach what we do as a church, our priorities, and how we approach our everyday lives.

In an ever-changing world, our core values remind us of who we are and how we want to relate with this world. These values underline our work, how we interact with everyone, and what we do to fulfil our mission. They are core to us as a Church and to every individual who calls KingsWord London their home.

S – Spirit Filled Lifestyle: The Holy Spirit confirms to us that we are God’s children; we don’t want to do anything without His help,  so we seek to maintain a Spirit filled life. We follow closely after the leading of the Holy Spirit, trusting him to help us make a difference in the world. We emphasise speaking in tongues, and seeing the manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit in our daily lives.

U – Uncompromising Word of God as the Final Authority: We take God’s word (the bible) as the final authority on every area of our lives. We don’t see God’s word as a fairy tale. If God’s word says it, we believe it. We know there is a word for every situation in life, and that the word has the power to change situations, and that faith comes through the word.

P – Purpose Driven People: There is a divine purpose for every life. Everyone is special and has gifts and abilities that have been given for the fulfilment of a special and unique assignment. We are always seeking to fulfil God’s plans for our lives. We live life with a sense of purpose.

E – Excellent in all our ways: We always give our best in all our endeavours and to the service of the Lord. We’re always thinking – is there a better way to do this? We want to give high quality service, resources, gifts, dedication and finances. In our lives – in politics, business, career, education, arts, music and entertainment, etc. we don’t settle in mediocrity, we keep applying ourselves until we get to the top of God’s plans for us.

R – Relevant to the society: We are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. We make an impact in the city of London by being an example to our communities, providing for the poor and otherwise unfortunate. We provide events and services that support people in our communities. We also support other charities working in London and the UK.

We encourage everyone who calls Kingsword International Church their home to actively participate in what God is doing here.

The KingsWord Story

Vision & Mission

Our vision is to raise a supernatural army, men of the word and of the spirit.

To empower you to live by the Word, fulfil your God given purpose and establish a supernatural lifestyle.

In the month of August 1990, the president of the ministry, Dr. Kayode Ijisesan had a divine encounter with God where he was instructed by God to raise a Supernatural army for Him.
So after seven years of solid preparation in ministry KingsWord Ministries International was formally inaugurated on the 21st November 1997. The name of the ministry is derived from Ecclesiastes 8:4 (KJV): Where the word of a king is, there is power. The ministry presently has Churches in three different continents: Africa, Europe & North America.

KMI was conceived in August 1990, at the time Dr Kay was a college student in a Pharmacy School. The first seed of this great vision was planted in April 1993 with the inception of a college ministry originally known as Victory Christian Fellowship now KingsWord Campus Church, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria.

Then on November 21, 1997, KingsWord Ministries International (KMI) was officially commissioned. The Church arm of the ministry known as KingsWord International Church (KIC) was later inaugurated on the 31st of December, 1997 in the city of Lagos, Nigeria. Presently, there are four vibrant Churches in Lagos Nigeria.

In November 1999, God instructed Dr Kay to relocate his family to the United States. KingsWord International Church, Chicago which is presently the Apostolic headquarters of the ministry was established on the 1st of September, 2002. In obedience to God, the ministry has planted Churches that are committed to discipling this generation in the supernatural power and principles of God in three continents thereby fulfilling the KingsWord Everywhere mandate.
